Menu gripes aside, the DSC-TX7 was a joy to use and offers good picture quality. Throw in goodies such as sweep panorama, TransferJet technology, 10fps shooting at full resolution, Memory Stick Duo/SD card compatibility and 1080i movies, and you’ve got a very compelling, if rather expensive, offering.

Verdict

It’s not much cheaper than an entry-level DSLR, but if you prefer a touchscreen compact that is brimming with features, then this is worth a good look. And if you're not too fussed about the colour, you can find this Cyber-shot at quite a discount, if you shop around. ®
