HP 'delays' Android tablet after death of Windows slate

OK. webOS. And this time we mean it

Regcast training : Hyper-V 3.0, VM high availability and disaster recovery

HP's Android tablet will not ship before the end of the year as originally planned, according to a report citing "sources in position to know."

All Things Digital says it's unclear why the project has been delayed. But this spring, HP purchased Palm and its webOS smartphone operating system, and the company made it clear that it intends to put Palm's mobile operating system on tablets.

The rumor is that an HP webOS tablet – supposedly called Hurricane – will arrive in Q3. But this seems rather soon.

At one point, Microsoft and HP told the world they were building a Windows 7 slate PC, but this project was silently murdered by HP. Perhaps the Android tablet has been murdered too, as the company puts more weight behind webOS.

But there's still time to murder its webOS tablet as well and make the move to Symbian. And then Ubuntu. Or maybe OS/2. ®
