Dell punts SIM-free Streak

For Sale. One MID. No Network ties

Quite fancy Dell's Streak MID - reviewed here - but don't relish the prospect of being tied to O2? This will be good news, then: Dell is now selling the big phone/small tablet (delete as applicable) unlocked.

The SIM-free Streak will cost you a mere four hundred and forty-nine of your Earth pounds, which will buy a black device with a 5in, "vibrant and spacious" 800 x 480 screen; 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU; integrated HSDPA 3G connectivity; 802.11b/g Wi-Fi; and 16GB of Micro SD storage.

Dell Streak

Inside the Streak lurks a second, 2GB Micro SD card which holds the operating system and the bundled apps. Streak runs Android and "a unique Dell designed user interface", but the prospect of an unlocked model may tempt some to open it up and swap out the 2G card for one containing a different OS.

Whatever you want to do with it, the unlocked Streak is available now from Dell's UK website. ®

Looks like a capable device.

I'd like one in any colour.

But I wanted the PINK one!

So where is the choice of colours we where promised then? Its all, you can have it in any colour as long as its black? Come on! I don't want a boring black device, we need colour in our lives, and now. :)
