Revamped Xbox 360 spied on Italian web

Kinetic colour scheme?

Security for virtualized datacentres

Is this the next Xbox 360? Italian website Console Tribe certainly seems to think so after spotting the image on local retail sites, writing about it and then noting that said sites all took the banner down.

Confirmation, the site says, surely?

Possibly. We'd just note that it seems odd for anyone to promote a machine that may not be on sale until the end of the year - no one who wants to sell any Xbox 360s in the meantime, that is.

A year ago, it was claimed that the arrival of Kinect - then known by its codename, Project Natal - would debut alongside a redesigned Xbox 360.

The claim was made not long after MS CEO Steve Ballmer said a new-look Xbox would debut in 2010.

Microsoft will formally announce its Kinect player sensing add-on tonight, but we'd be surprised if it will announce a new-look console too... unless it plans to put the machine on sale in the very near future.

It might, but summer isn't usually the season for new games hardware - surely, it would wait for the busy Christmas sales period for that? ®
