Specially designed to look at home in a family of Apple products, the new My Book Studio LX [1] external hard drive from industry pioneer WD hit the market this week.
Using WD SmartWare software [2], the device offers automatic continuous backup and comes with 256-bit hardware-based encryption.

Featuring Firewire 800 and USB 2.0 interfaces, the drive also stakes a claim to reduce carbon footprints with special technology to lower power consumption and "planet-friendly packaging".
Available now in the US, the My Book Studio LX drives are formatted for Mac and come in 1TB and 2TB sizes for $200 and $270. UK pricing and availability has yet to be set. ®
