Currys has become the latest supplier to tie in a money back offer on the success of the England football team on this summer's World Cup contest.

But unlike other such deals [1], which will refund purchase prices if England bring home the victor's trophy, Currys will simply give customers a tenner for every goal Rooney and co. score during the tournament.

Well, almost. The Ts&Cs [2] note that Currys parent DSG will be "excluding goals scored during any penalty shoot outs and any own goals scored by an England player".

Go to Currys [3] and buy any HD TV costing £599 or more between now and 11 June, then register your details on the Currys website [4] within three days of making your purchase to gain a registration certificate you need to print out.

After World Cup 2010 is done and dusted, tot up England's goals and make a claim for the cash prize by posting in your certificate and a copy of the purchase receipt to DSG, ensuring it arrives no later than 7 August.

Or you could just say 'bugger the faff' and look for a cheaper telly online... ®
