Virgin Media will publicly demonstrate its upcoming 200Mb/s broadband service this weekend.

VM's demo follows hot on the heels of the expansion of its 200Mb/s trial into Coventry. The test set-up is already operating in Kent and has been since the summer of 2009.

The service operates over Virgin Media's [1] fibre optic network, and involves running fibre into the home.

VM hasn't said when it expects to roll out 200Mb/s broadband commercially. Last month, it said it would offer subscribers 100Mb/s broadband [2] by the end of this year.

Virgin's 200Mb/s demo will take place at the Ideal Home Show 2010 [3] which kicks off a London's Earl's Court tomorrow. The show runs until 5 April. ®
