Buffalo preps SuperSpeed USB 3.0 portable HDD

Buffalo will ship its first portable hard drive to support SuperSpeed USB next month.

The MiniStation Lite USB 3.0 HD-PEU3 will come in 500GB and 640GB flavours, both of which will sport a glossy black chassis, Buffalo said.

While the Lite is designed to work with USB 3.0, it's also fully compatible with USB 2.0 computers because the new spec mandates the inclusion of a separate USB 2.0 link.

The 500GB drive will cost £110, the 640BG model £140. ®
