Samsung shines up Omnia HD camphone

Gold Edition unveiled

We can't say this blingy item is coming to the UK, so anyone who take a shine to the gold-inlayed special edition Samsung Omnia HD will have to travel to Germany, Singapore or the Middle East to get one.

What you'll get is a version of the existing i8190 Omnia HD - reviewed here - that comes in "two fashionable colours: Champagne Gold and Luxury Brown", Samsung said. Both versions are "inlayed with 24 karat gold".

The Gold Edition package also includes a leather case, a mini-cradle and TV-out cable, so it's not just bling you're buying but accessories too.

Like the regular Omnia HD, the Gold Edition has an 8Mp camera that can also be used to shoot 720p video. It also has a 3.7in, 16:9 ratio OLED screen, 16GB of on-board storage and supports 7.2Mb/s HSDPA and 5.6Mb/s HSUPA 3G data connectivity. A GPS pick-up is built in too.

Samsung didn't say how much the gold-sporting Omnia HD will cost, but then, if you need to ask... ®
