Customer Success Testimonial: Recovery is Everything

Microsoft has splashed its Bing brand name over its MSN video site.

The software giant, which confirmed [1] the switcheroo yesterday, said Bing Video would cough up viral vids to full-length TV shows and video via the service.

It grabs content from sites such as MySpace, Google’s YouTube, Hulu and CBS. The new site also comes with a nifty "lights out" feature for users to more easily view the video content online.

Microsoft said the change was part of a number of tweaks to its search site. Yesterday the company also added a few new features to Bing Maps.

The vendor added that it would make more announcements next week, which makes El Reg wonder if Microsoft’s ad-funded, Flash-based UK MSN Video Player will be re-branded with the Bing moniker.

In many ways it would be sensible for an increasingly Google-apeing Redmond to bring all its web properties under one roof by labelling them with a singular brand name. But Microsoft isn’t exactly known for making things quite that simple for its users. ®
