Agentless Backup is Not a Myth

Amazon has revealed how much you'll have to shell out for Microsoft’s upcoming Zune HD media player.

The player will be available in two flavours: a $220 (£133/€155), 16GB model and a $290 (£175/€204) version with a 32GB storage capacity, Amazon’s US website states [1]. The player hasn’t been inked for release in the UK, yet.

Amazon hasn’t added any technical details to its website, but Microsoft confirmed [2] in May that Zune HD is built around a 3.5in, 480 x 272 OLED screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The player also features an integrated “HD Radio receiver” and an HDMI port, Microsoft said. The 16GB model has a black body, while the 32GB player will ship in a platinum shell.

A shipping date hasn’t been confirmed by Amazon – although it’s widely thought that the Zune HD will be available in North America next month. It’s worth noting that while Amazon says it’s already accepting pre-orders for the player, links for both capacities were currently down at the time we went to press. ®
