PayPal suffered another embarrassing outage last night, and was unavailable for about four hours from 6.30pm UK time - one of the busiest times on eBay.
The preferred payment service for the tat bazaar was last unavailable for several hours in late June, which really isn't great for a payment service: particularly one which underpins time sensitive auctions.
The company blamed [1] a network hardware failure for the problem. In June it blamed a botched upgrade. [2] The payment provider apologised and said the problem started at 10.30am Pacific Time and was all sorted out by 3pm.
eBay paid $1.5bn for PayPal [3] in 2002. Recent changes at the online tat bazaar have alienated a lot of smaller sellers. [4] ®
