Grand Theft Auto firm praises controller-free gaming
Motion-controlled GTA anyone?
Nintendo may have rubbished Microsoft's Project Natal motion-controlled gaming, but the CEO of videogame publisher Take-Two has given the technology a big thumbs up.
“The ability to just stand in front of a display and motion with your hand or talk - that's what people want,” Ben Feder told website Games Industry. “The closer to natural motion we get, the more we can take advantage of that to create specific software.”
Feder stopped short of specifically praising either Microsoft’s Project Natal or Sony’s Motion Control , but hinted that although Nintendo “did a great job with the Wii controller” - gamers now want controller-free videogames.
Unsurprisingly, Feder didn’t state specific plans for a motion-controlled GTA. But he stressed he that “any time one of these types of peripherals comes out it's something that we look at very, very carefully.” ®
