Devon police have charged a nursery worker with seven offences including sexual assault and making and distributing indecent images of children.
Vanessa George, 39, from Efford in Plymouth, a member of staff at Little Ted’s Child Day Care Unit in Laira, was arrested at her home on Monday night.
She was targeted after images apparently made at the nursery were recovered from the computer and mobile phone of a 38-year-old man from Littleborough, near Manchester.
The man has been charged with possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
The nursery is closed while police carry out further inquiries. About 100 locals attended a meeting with senior officers and child care officials last night. ®
