UK indie resellers get new body
When two become one
Two trade bodies representing the UK's independent resellers are to merge.
The union is not official yet as it needs to be approved by both groups' members, but the management of the National Association of Specialist Computer Retailers and the Independent Trade Association of Computing Specialists have agreed in principle to merge.
Chair of NASCR Jenny Simpson said: "We're both doing very similar work so it doesn't make sense to duplicate our work. We hope this will make a stronger association and that our members will see it as a sensible move."
Simpson said the new organisation will be called NASCR ITACS for now but that may change. She hopes to make the organisation as well known to the general public as Corgi-approved plumbers, so they will actively seek out members. ®
