Skype, in my opinion, is one of the best pieces of desktop software ever written. It's fairly lightweight, has very few bugs, looks pretty, and does its job well.

Would I have paid 2.6 billion for it? No.

Would I have liked to sit in either their CTO or CSO spot? Hell yes.

I have used SKYPE for about 2 years now and have found it to be what it says on the tin. It has saved me a fortune over that time with calls to the continent.

It happens to me often that I receive a chat message on Skype that's more than a day old. Now, when I send a chat message through Skype I have no confidence that it will arrive promptly.
