For the sheer stupidity alone. Moral issues aside, downloading child porn is a dumb thing to do. Doing it without employing some hi-tech voodoo to cover your tracks is really dumb. Doing it on a work computer is really REALLY dumb. Doing it on a GOVERNMENT computer is just... well it's hard to put that kind of dumb into words.

He did not pay money for the paedo pictures. He did not use stolen credit card numbers to make others pay for paedo pictures. He did not buy products that contribute advertising revenue to paedo pictures. He did not install a paedo picture downloading trojan that turns Windows machines into zombies for use by botnet criminals.

I would give him 5 years for spending so much time looking at abusive pictures that he could not have had enough time to do any real work at his day job.The way to reduce the harm to young girls is to hunt the people who fund it, not the freetards.
