Lets not forget the GWB lasted a double term on probably even less knowledge. The American people get the president they deserve.

The American public obviously do deserve more and luckily they now finaly realise it.

Or maybe ignorance is a winning combination and McCain and Palin just got their roles reversed and messed up the winning formula?

Paris because she probably knows more than Palin does. At least Paris has travelled the world. (Palin - world? You know that big round thing)

Half of America seems to think Europe is one as well.

Charles Manning certainly has a point - and remember, this is the Obama who thought there were 57 states in the US, then wanted to go and make demands of the President of Canada. At least Palin's ignorance was of a *foreign* country...

Palin shouldn't be made fun of. She obviously has suffered a massive cervical trauma and needs some neurological help. Or the probing went to far during her last abduction. Or she wasn't properly thawed after her latest rampage on moose and bears...

Or maybe she should be put out of her misery (for our own sake).

As said above, that in the US "she's at least as stupid and ignorant as I am" can be seen as worthwhile qualities in a potential leader is quite frightening.

Well given that it's clear that the president of the US and his vice are just puppets, while the real power is in the hands of others who control them through 'advisors', it doesn't really matter how ignorant the president is, actually for the powers behind the scenes an ignorant president is easier to manipulate than an intelligent one.

Bush has been a good example for the fact that anyone, even someone who can't hold a sentence together without reading it from a screen, can be president...

The only people who would vote for such losers are even bigger losers themselves.

Lets not forget that Reagan spend the last 4 years of his presidency delusional and forgetful - protected by his advisors. His Alzheimers condition was the only think that kept him from being impeached for his criminal Iran Contra involvement.

More recently the current war criminal in the White House, was overdosing on Oxycotyn during his first 4 years in office, delusional, and speaking to Gawad.

During these last 4 years in office Bush was switched to Ritalin as his drug of choice.

Republican party self-destructs

Posted Thursday 6th November 2008 22:08 GMT

Thumb Down

Evidence is starting to come out that these allegations are coming from McCain aids "getting back" at Palin for not following the script during the campaign. McCain made a sharp left turn to go for the "squishy middle" vote (a proven loser, which is another story) but had to have a conservative as veep to avoid losing the Republican party's conservative base. (For non-Americans, "Republican" and "conservative" are not synonymous. There are liberal Republicans (called RINOS) -- more, lately -- and conservative Democrats (called "Blue Dog"). Very few political issues are black-and-white.) Whatever one might think of conservatives, Palin truly is one, and McCain is not.

So McCain said carefully crafted things designed to appeal to the middle-left, and Palin spoke her mind instead of her cue cards, and the McCain campaign got pissed off. The goal of a few Republican middle-wigs and former McCain campaigners now appears to be to spoil Palin's future chances of running for anything more lofty than her present position as Alaska's governor. (A politician telling an outright lie to a news organization -- who woulda thunk it?)

I'm currently registered Democrat, (voted for Hillary in the primaries) and will probably go back to Libertarian now, but it's apparent even to me that the Republican party is in terrible disarray, caused primarily by a bunch of old fogeys who won't lead and won't get the hell out of the way. A bunch of entrenched lifetime politicians and their flappers who don't know how to be anything other than the minority party. A party that thinks fielding boring codgers like Bob Dole and John McCain as presidential candidates is a good idea.

Younger, more vital and articulate Republicans are naturally going to run into trouble with their party's machine, and we're seeing some of that here. For the party to ever have a prayer of being relevant again, it needs to be cored and rebuilt. The next election will be fought in the primaries, and if the old school prevails, the 'Pubs will field another tepid loser.

There are a few people fighting back:

I know picked da Hawkey Marm to be VP. That was done by advisors who likely aren't much brighter than she is. In the entire GOP group running for president the brightest of the lot were very likely Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. Romney was sunk because the religiosity vote was split and Paul was far too honest.

That said, Obama had promise until he picked Joe "Uber Nanny" Biden. Seriously, Biden isn't any prize either. This is a guy who wants to control damn near every aspect of your life. He was one of the large group who voted to make it easier to walk away from a mortgage than file for bankruptcy, not that it was the straw that broke the credit camel's back... it's more like the IED that blasted the poor camel in thirty two.

2. I see nothing wrong with her not knowing all that. This was why she was chosen and it was the votes McCain and co were going for - the votes of Dumbf*ckistani voters as directed by their Bible-thumping Evangelico-Taleban elders. Have you ever seen a collection of "map of the world" drawings as drawn by American kids from the midwest? Methinks you should. It is an eye opening and highly educational experience. Anyway, she was chosen for "being one of them". Thankfully, the election also showed that "them" are finally on their way to become a minority.

So what? They're still Republicans, and she's a dangerously parochail liability to a party that wants to get elected.

"...LOST AN ELECTION TO AN ADMITTED SOCIALIST..."

Why in pity's name is admitting to being a socialist worthy of capital emphasis? You fling the word about like it's an insult and a crime. Do you even know what it means? How broad a Church it is? Or are you as ignorant as the woman you are incoherently trying to defend?

"...admitted Coke and other drug user..."

So?

"...who cavorts with American Anarchists..."

Serving on committees with a man whom the Republicans put in control of all the social good works in his district hardly counts as covorting.

"...Socialists..."

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

"...who told all the idiots in America..."

And the clever people as well as you, Webbie baby.

"...that he WILL raise your taxes!!..."

O Noes! More taxes!

Just cos you think it's wrong doesn't make it so.

"...You have to be F*&king Morons to lose to Obama..."

Or a moron to fail to realise that there are other factors involved.

"...which is what they ARE..."

I sense the noise of vessels for the heating of liquids...

"...and are now trying to - 1) find a patsy..."

A patsy for what? Evey single stupid moronic mistake the campaign made?

"...2) keep Palin, a REAL CONSERVATIVE, from becoming the conservative ranks cover girl because SHE IS MORE POPULAR (the huge crowds ARE THE PROOF) than McCanned was!..."

More popular with the ranks of the drooling 'tards who would've voted "McCanned" if he'd stood on the hustings painted blue with feathers coming out of his ass, maybe. But Palin was a large chunk of the Republicans losing that election: the States no longer has a majority of rednecks, and the non-redneck Reps wouldn't touch Palin with *yours*. Elections are won and lost in the middle ground, not by persuading your core constiuency to vote for you. If they are havering, then you're already in deep, deep trouble and you can forget winning.

"...These center-left leaning "RINO" A-holes that McCanned is a big part of ,are afraid of losing their authority in the Republican Party to someone like Palin..."

Because with Palin at its head, the only way the Republican party gets a President is to stage an armed coup.

" .... who is a hell of a lot smarter than Cade and all the other a-holes in the lefty media..."

Hahahahahahaha. Ah-haha ahaahahhaha.

Posted Friday 7th November 2008 11:28 GMT

Everything from the choice of candidate President and Vice-President through to press releases was engineered so that the GOP would fail. It was carefully planned and orchestrated failure by design.

A Pres candidate was chosen who was at the end of his political career. This would ensure his future career was not jepordised and he would have no incentive to renege on his planned failure.

Next step after spending 26 years in politics he chose a complete novice as his running mate. Someone with whom he has had no experience working with. If you are going to play a game of doubles in tennis/badminton you would choose someone you know you can work with. Not a complete stranger.

Witness Palin's reaction on election night(She was laughing) and McCains very rapid concedement speech early on in Election night. Does this sound like people who fought tooth and nail to win?

So why did the Reps want to lose so clearly?

Easy. The financial bill for Agfa/I-Rq is coming due. The economy is going into a 2nd Depression that's going to make the 30's Depression look like the 50's Boomtime. Peak Oil is around the corner, mass jobs exodus offshore is going lead to severe social uprising issues at home.

To put this simply. If you made the biggest mess in history what would you like to do? Spend years fixing it yourself or let some other chump do it?

Check and Mate.

Why are we still talking about Palin?

This whole episode trashing Palin comes from only one place. FEAR, PURE FEAR. Fear of a true American female of the old type. Self confident, mother, leader, protector of her family, her nation, the female gender, and the man she stands beside. While not one of you liberal jerks don't seem to remember that obama did not even know that we don't have 57 states, and biden knows even less other than attacking our President Bush over the last 6 years, Sarah Palin stood fast and told the truth about obama, biden and their tire old worn out mantra of the democrat vote buying bull that I have heard for the last 50 years in EVERY political campaign for national office. Promises never never kept, cannot EVER be accomplished. Tired and tiresome bull from the liberals. Proudly Sarah and McCain stood far above that empty rhetoric and pronounced truth.

Palin

Posted Friday 7th November 2008 17:07 GMT

@Jake

you can bet its pure fear, the fear of her getting anywhere near the 'button' if she became president.

Someone with as little knowledge of the world around her as Palin being anywhere near the presidency would quite simply be flat out dangerous.

....dubya has done a horrendous amount of damage to the standing of the USA since he has been in power, Palin would have completely destroyed it...

Incidentally the large majority or readers here would have had no objection to a female president...it is clear from the election result, that anyone born and raised in the USA can stand up and be elected president (without color or gender being a factor) should they have the correct skills for the time at hand...

for what its worth, McCain showed that he was a decent kind of guy (especially with his speech at the end), his campaign team however should be shot, and his choice of running mate has proven to be a fatal error for his bid to become president.

Again, lest y'all missed it ...
