Lazy Gmail users can now set up automatic replies to common emails with a new add-on feature dubbed ‘Canned Responses.’

"If you are sick of typing out the same reply every time someone emails you with a common question, now you can compose your reply once and save the message text with the 'Canned Responses' button," said Gmail engineer, Chad Parry.

The customised messages can also be sent automatically by pairing the new feature with the Gmail Filters option located in the Settings menu.

Earlier this month, the internet kingpin introduced Mail Goggles, a new feature that asks a series of maths problems that must be solved in 60 seconds.

Several levels of difficulty are available for drunken fools, and if they fail the test, Goggles will prevent ill-conceived late night and weekend emails being sent out. ®
