A Dublin-based Register Hardware reader almost received one of the recently revealed [1] 4GB fourth-generation iPod Nanos, thanks to an Apple shipment blunder.
The reader, Paul, told us how he ordered a 16GB capacity version of the new oval-profiled model online last week, only to later have the €157 (£124/$225) excluding tax device replaced by a 4GB model, priced at €115 (£90/$165).
As you can see from a screen grab of Paul’s online order page, the 4GB model was offered to Paul in blue. The model’s product code is shown as PB651ZO/A.
Apple realised the mistake though and sent Paul an email stating: “Due to an error this order has entered our system as an iPod Nano 4GB.” The error’s since been rectified and a 16GB model is winging its way to the reader.
Thanks for the tip off, Paul.
