The crooning missus of French prez Nick Sarko this morning unveiled her latest album free online - ahead of its official release on 11 July.
Yes indeedy, Carla Bruni's dulcet tones are now available to subscribers on a "single time-credit of two non-consecutive hours" during which fans can sample the delights of Comme si de rien n'était ("As if nothing happened").
According to an in-depth analysis of the disc down at the Telegraph, advance reviews have been generally warm, with rock rag Les Inrockuptibles describing it as "a good album". Deputy ed Jean-Daniel Beauvallet admitted: "I didn't want to trash the record just for who she was."
Naturally, the 42-minute Comme si de rien n'était contains direct references to Bruni's whirlwind romance with Sarko. In Ta Tienne ("Yours"), she warbles: "Let them curse me, I don't give a damn. I couldn't care less, I take all the blame I who made men dance/I give myself to you entirely."
Steady on there love. Another track, Tu es ma came ("You are my drug"), apparently attracted a formal protest from the Colombian government for describing a love "more deadly than Afghan heroin, more deadly than Colombian white".
Well, you can judge for yourselves just how deadly Bruni's love for Le Prez is down at her website [1]. We await your reviews with keen anticipation. ®
