LG looks to Swarovski to bling up LCD TV line

Agentless Backup is Not a Myth

LG has taken the wraps off what could be the blingiest telly yet - a 47in LCD TV with a base clad in Swarokvski sparklies.

LG's Canvas Crystal X: sparkly stand

The Canvas Crystal X - or, more mundanely, the 47LB90FD - has a 1080p full HD resolution and a contrast ratio of 50,000:1, LG claimed. The base of the unit is stamped with 1000 Swarovski 'crystals' - or glass with a high lead content, as it's known in the trade.

In the name of luxury...

More useful than the glass-encrusted stand is the "EyeQ" feature, which automatically adjusts the display's brightness, contrast, colour balance and so on according to the lighting conditions it finds itself in.

Available in Korea for KRW3.3m ($3194/£1629/€2053), there's no word yet on when this most sparkly of tellies will make it to bling-hungry Brits.

Or how much dough it'll sent them back.
