Lets have it

IT angle, no coat too hot out there but i'll take a paris

Great news!

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:04 GMT

This is great news in my mind, one less thing to have to read about that mess of a person in the paper.

Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of people who like her music, however I'm not one of them and quite frankly I tire of reading about her latest drugscapade all the time.

You can almost hear the dispair

Thumb Down

You can almost hear the dispair in Mark's voice here, as he watches Amy Winehouse throw away another opportunity for greatness and takes him down with her.

isn't winehouse french for trainwreck?

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:23 GMT

Paris Hilton

ok, she can sing, but damn, what a trainwreck.

First few times

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:24 GMT

Thumb Down

The music was good... then her voice became Whine-House... long before Drugs kicked in. Pity the poor soul... and then ask about the people dealing and supplying. Our version of Brittany...

Excellent

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:26 GMT

Thumb Up

Now, just get someone decent to record it, remind the songwriter that not every Bond theme has to have the title in the song, and we'll be good to go...

Re: Great News

Thumb Up

Amen.

Maybe now

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:37 GMT

Paris Hilton

she _will_ have time to go into rehab?

all is not lost!

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:41 GMT

Amy keeps her music in her beehive, there's a whole recording studio in there, so when they need a theme tune, she just goes to the hairdresser's and out it pops!

Alternative voice

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:42 GMT

Go

He should get Paloma Faith to sing instead... she's better looking as well.

Is this offer open to anyone?

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:45 GMT

Dead Vulture

I mean, can I announce that I'm going to record the next Bond theme and then announce that, actually, I'm not and get an El Reg article covering both statements?

I'll sing crap and take drugs if it helps.....

Hurrah!

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 12:47 GMT

Thumb Up

Now I can go watch the film without cringing through the credits!

PS: Anon Coward, if all the articles about her tire you, there's an easy solution...!

Oh, behave.

And anyone who can't spell 'Britney' after all this time needs to sort it out, and is disqualified from opining on matters of popular culture. That is all.

Lies, damm lies

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 13:01 GMT

Happy

The real reason she quit is that see couldn't get anything to rhyme with the title...

But?

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 13:07 GMT

Coat

If no one reads about her - is she really there?

I'm not gonna record the next Bond theme either.

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 13:13 GMT

But I could be open to offers

Either way.

@Mike Crawshaw

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 13:15 GMT

You're right, I do know what I can do, I gave up reading newspapers a few weeks back and am much happier for it!

Has anyone seen...

Joke

Pete Doherty and Amy at the same time? When Pete goes at HM pleasure does Amy popup and vice versa - one cross dresser with a habit responsible?

Rhymes with solace @ Stu Reeves

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 13:45 GMT

Flame

solace - police?

A Quantum of Solace

Let's call the Police

That one with the baldness

Was played by Telly Savalas

(www.rhymer.com gives "baldness")

(www.rhymezone.com gives "Savalas")

> The real reason she quit is that see couldn't get anything to rhyme with the title...

thought i'd give that a try

"But it's just a Quantum of Solace;

The world is not your molasc;

but your real popular on myspace;

with those pearls on your necklace..."

okay, it's getting a bit weird now.....

rhymes?

Posted Tuesday 6th May 2008 13:57 GMT

Maybe not hard rhymes, but possibly some soft ones?

Quantum of Solace,

dum ti dum ti dum,

Castor and Pollux,

dum ti dum ti dum,

<something> like bollocks.

You might pronounce 'solace' a bit differently on your side of the pond so this might not work.

She's holding out for....

Ah, I thought I was the only one that noted the "Brittany" weirdness. I thought it was Britney's evil twin they were talking about!

>> and is disqualified from opining on matters of popular culture

Or opinioning even ;o) ......

..... either way I'm happy - I tend to want to stab some Indy (couldn't help it, I'm still laughing from the Lesbo article) whenever I hear Winehouse' damn voice!!!

Opine - to pass opinion on. v. Opining. ;)

Re: isn't winehouse french for trainwreck?

Posted Wednesday 7th May 2008 11:33 GMT

No, but "Amy Winehouse" IS french for "I like the pub".

@Jim

Posted Wednesday 7th May 2008 23:37 GMT

LOL! .......... serves me right for trying to be a smarta** <g>

Portishead

Posted Thursday 8th May 2008 07:03 GMT

should do the Bond theme - though, they'd probably miss the deadline. May be they can do the next one.

Who cares?

Posted Thursday 8th May 2008 08:47 GMT

Unhappy

Off topic? Seriously, does anyone out there /not/ fast forward through the opening music anyway?

Remember Spleen

Posted Thursday 8th May 2008 21:00 GMT

Maybe she changed her mind because they decided on Spleen's lyrics:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/01/24/bond_22_title/comments/

*waahhnnyyahnaahh* He's got a quantum of solace *wahhhnyyaaahnaahhh* And a googleplex of sanctimony *wwwaaahhhnyyaaahhhnaaah* He'll aspirate your apathy *wwwaaahhhnyyyaannaaah* With anaerobic dialysis *waaahhnnyyyaaanaahhh*

Although it does take someone truly pissed to be able to sing this with the appropriate diction.

Don’t Miss
