We at El Reg have been called a fair few things in our time, but never before has it been suggested that we are dedicated practitioners of the Sapphic arts.
Well, it was only a matter of time, and readers are invited to have a shufti at this piece from the Independent, which earlier today examined in some depth the Lesbian versus lesbian kerfuffle which threatens to sully the good name of Lesbos.
The final para begins: "So the trial of lower-case lesbian vs upper-case Lesbian is going ahead. Now, a lesbian on-line magazine called The Register has put forward a solution..."
By the Lord Harry and Saint George. Unless we receive a letter of apology and conciliatory hamper containing beer and lads mags by 5pm today, we're going to sail the Martina Navratilova round to the Indy and give the lot of 'em a good licking. ®
Bootnote 1
This isn't the first time we've suffered outrage at the hands of the Independent. The paper once suggested that Belle du Jour was none other than Andrew Orlowski, and described him as having "a record of cultured sex writing on the internet".
Bootnote 2
We'd like to state for the record that El Reg has nothing whatsoever against lesbians, or Lesbians for that matter. If we were in fact a girl-on-girl publication, rest assured our penetrating Paris Hilton coverage would be as hugely popular as it currently is.
