Brit warbler and walking advert for the perils of tattooing, Amy Winehouse, is making a pitch for the theme song of forthcoming Bond movie Quantum Of Solace, the BBC reports.

That's according to her producer Mark Ronson, who told BBC 6 Music that Winehouse was approached to knock something together for Bond 22, although he's not quite certain how official the deal is.

He said: "They asked Amy, and I think Amy said that if she did it, she'd want to do it with me. So hopefully something will come of it."

Ronson added: "The demo sounds like a James Bond theme, hopefully. But I don't know if it'll get used."

He concluded: "I'm sure there are loads more really famous people that probably we're competing with and we don't know about. I'm not sure. But hopefully I'll still be alive for at least 12 more Bond themes. If we don't get this one maybe we'll get another one." ®

Bootnote

We don't know about you lot, but we reckon Winehouse would actually make a pretty good Bond villain's sidekick, Ivana Crackhaus, complete with Medusaesque robotic bouffant of death.
