I had as much free time as you guys.

Excellent...

Another fine use of the toy box contents to boost a Friday's happiness quotient.

Thanks & Cheers,

Mike

This is not funny ...

Flame

... it's puerile and very, very silly. The imaginatively named "Monday" was canned because of juvenile snickering, and it would be a shame if this crisp, clean rebranding were to be withdrawn, wasting a lot of taxpayer's money, because of the Reg's unwarranted campaign of ridicule.

Haven't you people got work to do?

Only El Reg

Oh Rly?

Posted Friday 25th April 2008 15:24 GMT

@Seth - that sounds like a challenge, and not a particularly difficult one at that.

Now I understand the need...

Posted Friday 25th April 2008 15:25 GMT

...for extreme porn laws.

Well my day was going crap

Posted Friday 25th April 2008 15:26 GMT

Now its awesome, thanks again El Reg!

what a way to finish the week

thanks for that :-)

Cracking !!!

I'll have me coat (the puerile and very, very silly one) as I'm off to the pub.

See ye all on Monday, Cheers.

Oh, I was hoping it would be something ruder than that...

Paris Hilton

Erm, it's not just El Reg finding this funny, it's been widely ridiculed all over the Web for a couple of days now. I don't recall any juvenile sniggering over "Monday" (even I can't find anything rude about that), but plenty of comment about it being a) stupid and b) totally devoid of imagination.

While we're on, can anybody explain the rationale behind the logo for the Department for Children, Schools and Families (http://www.dfes.gov.uk)?

Paris, because even she could do better.

Seems about right.

I do have to wonder though how much did it cost us for these leeches to come up with the idea of using a acronym in basic lettering on a white background?.

Maybe there just letting us know how what the tax payer is for..

Okay, that's funnier...

Paralyzed by laughter? That's a relief... I immediately thought they were Puritans passing out from the sight. And that the cop was arresting them as sex offenders. Sorry, forgot you're in a different country. Or maybe not...

Playskool figures *and* official government materials.

Like AC, though, I hope they don't have to go back to the drawing board on this.

Monday

Posted Friday 25th April 2008 16:40 GMT

Stop

Dear oh dear - people with short memories *and* susceptibility to urban myths. The brand Monday wasn't canned for being duff; it was made redundant by PwC Consulting being bought by IBM and not therefore needing a brand.

And at least it wasn't a dumb-ass made up word (with, if you please, made up punctuation as a required part of it). Nor a coffee-stain masquerading as a brand.

Inspired!

It is nice to see that the PC brigade haven't managed to rid all childrens' playthings of their guns and other assorted weaponry...

Keep up the ingenious use of the Playskool toys, and don't let any Naysayers put you off!

Wrong, it's funny because it IS puerile and very, very silly. Get over yourself.

Priceless!

Two quick questions:

1: Just how thick IS the Register's 'Little Book of Euphemisms'? And;

2: Where can I get a copy?

@J

I see what you did there with the Rammstein reference.

The eerie thing is that this song was playing on my headphones when I read it.

Only £14K?

Must be the recession bitting, time was when the "Image Consultants" would get half a mil for that kind of effort.

"While we're on, can anybody explain the rationale behind the logo for the Department for Children, Schools and Families (http://www.dfes.gov.uk)?"

I would have thought it was obvious to anyone - Rainbow has infiltrated government, and Ed Balls is really Bungle with an all-over wax job to look the part. Forget RoTM, this is RoTP - Revenge of the Puppets:)
