It's after 12 o'clock now, making you the fool, not us...

April 1st

A happy April fools day to you all!

62 minutes too late?

Posted Tuesday 1st April 2008 12:14 GMT

Happy

I got as far as "In a candid interview with The Register" before I twigged!

Unsure

Posted Tuesday 1st April 2008 12:14 GMT

Hmmm, you realise that, with a published date of 12:02PM this makes the author an April fool as UK April fool is only until midday. Unless this is actually legit, which I doubt, considering how much Wales was enjoying his expense account.

Fools...

Nice one guys

How sad to see Jimmy leave like this. I hope he didn't feel compelled to resign because of all the horrid stories El Reg kept publishing about him.

Apparently the Author is in San Fransisco, where it would be about 3-4am, on 01-04-08...so it should still be okay..

12:02 in the afternoon.

Er, it sez GMT, so whoever called 62 minutes has the win here.

But aside from that folks, read the byline. It's from Cade in SF, GMT -8 it says here, cut the poor beggar some slack. Nobody gets up at sparrow chirp just to avoid being taken to task by pedants.

Besides, it's funny and worth stretching a point for........

Lightened my day, anyway

Brilliant, just effing brilliant. I burst out laughing when I got to the bit above. :)

But wait a mo - that's about the third or fourth April Fool on the site today. Don't you Vultures have *any* work to do? On second thoughts, silly question...

A load of baloney...

...when it claims to be a Reg exclusive!

Posted in San Francisco...

Posted Tuesday 1st April 2008 13:17 GMT

Thumb Up

...so it's an April Fool. It only appears to have been posted after 12 noon to GMT users ?

Heh, I took the headline seriously until I noticed it had been posted in Bootnotes.

Hopeful?

Posted Tuesday 1st April 2008 13:19 GMT

maybe it should be more of a xmas wish than an april fool?

April fools DAY

Posted Tuesday 1st April 2008 13:43 GMT

It's called April fools DAY not April fools before noon.

I fell for that..

..until I got to the celibacy bit.

On the other hand

It made as much sense as any other story from Wikipedia-land.

I still prefer the virutal human story

(Written by Reg staff.)

OK, folks, we know, April Fool's ended at midday/this or other silly story is not very subtle and did not fool you not even for a second/etc. We know.

We know.

In other news, we are aware of these factors. Plus, everyone is fully up to date with the situation.

WE KNOW.

Please post something amusing about Ann Coulter now. Thanks.

We'll never forget...

Posted Tuesday 1st April 2008 15:00 GMT

the day El Reg turned into the Onion.

Hilarious!

Posted Tuesday 1st April 2008 15:41 GMT

I liked this story, best effort of the day!

Ann Coulter has freakish arms by the way.

GMT?

Posted Tuesday 1st April 2008 16:50 GMT

Haven't you changed to BST at Vulture Central?

@Hilarious

"Ann Coulter has freakish arms by the way."

Just the arms!? Sheesh, she's quite all around scary no matter the angle...

Yes but...

> OK, folks, we know, April Fool's ended at midday/this or other silly story is not very subtle and did not fool you not even for a second/etc. We know.

Yes, but perhaps you don't know why?

It's because every story by Cadz about Wikipedia sounds like a lot of bollocks...this one just happened to fall on a date that gives a half decent excuse for it :)

Pity the Fool

Paris Hilton

The tradition (in the UK at least) goes that if you attempt a prank after 12 noon on April 1st, you are the fool.

Paris, because we are talking about fools
