An online poll down at the entertainment section of the Beeb's website indicates that the vast majority of those voting are fully in favour of Bond 22 being titled Quantum of Solace.
And when we say vast majority, we mean 95.88 per cent declaring it a "Licence to Thrill!" with a mere 4.12 per cent reckoning it's "From Russia with dud!".
That's how it was looking at around 2.15 this afternoon, with 8124 votes cast.
Quantum of Solace comes, of course, from Ian Fleming's 1960 collection of Bond short stories For Your Eyes Only. Judging by Reg reader reaction to the title announcement yesterday, either something very strange is going on down at dear old Auntie's place, or fans of Vulture Central are seriously out of whack with popular feeling. Hmmmm. ®
