Site news Next week, the thousands of readers who contributed to The Register's recent virtualization research panel will have the opportunity to see the result, when we kick off the first in a series of free online debates.

The Register's virtualization eSymposium, From the Data Center to the Desktop, will kick off at 8:30 PST, 16:30GMT on Tuesday 6 November, with virtualization heavyweights introduced by Register US editor Ashlee Vance.

In addition, we've drafted in industry heavyweights - including experts from VMWare - to cover sessions on desktop virtualization, licensing in a virtualized environment, and managing a virtualized environment, again followed by Q&A sessions.

The event wraps up at 11:15 PST (19:15 GMT) with a round table chaired by Ashlee featuring all of the speakers. It'll be your chance to get into the details of virtualization, while Ashlee cross-examines the speakers. You can submit questions for him to ask beforehand, by mailing him direct.
