Creative debuts iPod Shuffle-sized speaker

Cute or what? It's Creative's latest accessory for arch-rival Apple's diminutive iPod Shuffle: a travel speaker that clips on to the bottom of the player turning it into a handheld sound blaster.

Creative TravelSound i50
Creative's i50: iPod speaker or old-style ciggie lighter?

Dubbed the TravelSound i50, the gadget has its own on-board rechargeable battery that feeds the unit's digital amplifier and four "precision microdrivers" - speakers, in other words - for up to 21 hours.

The i50 also has a mini USB port, so you can hook up player and speaker to a computer not only for copying over songs but also for keeping the batteries of both small devices charged up.

Available any day now, the i50 costs £40.
