Juniper names Sun exec as CFO

Juniper Networks has tapped former Sun executive, Robyn Denholm, as chief financial officer today, filling a hole left by a management shuffle due to a stock options investigation.

The CFO spot has been vacant at Juniper since Robert Dykes handed in his resignation in March as a part of the shakeup. Dykes has since become CEO of a private company.

As Juniper's CFO, Denholm will lead the company's worldwide finance and accounting organization. She will also take charge of the its legal, investor relations and global facilities organizations.

"Drawing from nearly 25 years of hands-on financial experience with recognized leaders," said Juniper CEO Scott Kriens in a statement, "I know that Robyn will be a valuable contributor in assessing the financial implications of all major business decisions and providing strategic input toward shaping Juniper's global business objectives and future success."

In 2006, Juniper faced a federal investigation over alleged abuse of share options granted back in the dotcom boom. Although the company has since recovered financially, it suffered several quarters of operational costs and charges related to the probe, eating into profits.

Denholm joins Juniper from Sun Microsystems, where she worked since 1996 at a number of jobs, ultimately becoming senior vice president of corporate strategic planning. ®
