Comments on: Judge ruled against NSA surveillance in US

Sounds like John Boehner is deliberately trying to deceive. They don't seek FISA warrants unless the start or end point is the USA. It doesn't matter if the communications cross USA. So FISA would never have been asked to rule on that.

http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode50/usc_sec_50_00001805----000-.html

To be refused a FISA warrant they were breaking one of these requirements:

* Spying on Americans exercising their first amendment rights (3.a).

* Spying where no terrorist is suspected (3.b)

* Blanket spying on US citizens (4)

* Refusing to say who they are spying on or why (5)

And that's just the program that's been referred to FISA, the other ones Gonzales mentions in his testimony remain unexamined.

Ouch

Ouch , just where do these nincompoops and loonies crawl out from?

What brand of Magic Wand , do they possess , that will save and protect all of us from a random attack , by a random crazed lunatic we now call a terrorist?

The actions and activities of these crazed wankers offering the illusion of safety but the price is your absolute freedom and all democratic rights is truly illogical , and they must be criminally insane themselves , to offer such a ludicrous choice! , for who polices the policemen , if they can't or won't police themselves , since they follow no rules and recognize no laws?

It is best summed up by Dwight Eisenhower "If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking is freedom."

We stand at the crossroads and the abyss is but one half step away to oblivion if we carry on with this craziness and insanity ,as a method to curb the current crop of crazed anarchists in this new 21st Century !

It sounds like if two terrorists want to talk anywhere in the world all they have to do is relay the call through a proxy in the US (using 2 seperate calls)- ironic. That would force a warrant to have to be issued and at the very least eat up time.

Boehner is trying to deceive

"There's been a ruling, over the last four or five months, that prohibits the ability of our intelligence services and our counterintelligence people from listening in to two terrorists in other parts of the world where the communication could come through the United States," Boehner told the Fox anchor

There has never been an issue with intercepting terrorist communications, What Boehner meant to say was:

"There's been a ruling, over the last four or five months, that prohibits the ability of our intelligence services and our counterintelligence people from listening in to two PEOPLE in other parts of the world where the communication could come through the United States,"

Where People are you and me, the evil potential terrorists!

Spying where no terrorist is suspected

Sorry, but you're wrong there. The Bushies suspect terrorists EVERYWHERE, including the car trunk, so that argument does not hold.

Texas, Texas, uber alles.

Uber alles in der Welt...

So we have a convicted drunk driver in the White House, with a well-known lying sack of garbage running the "Justice" Department, and they are afraid that somehow the American people are going to object to Government spying on their every smallest activity? How un-American of those people! Don't they realize that by refusing to support the Schutzstaffel, er, NSA in its efforts to uncover terrorists who are posing as peaceful citizens, they may be allowing dangerous plots to topple the Republican Party to go uncovered? And, as we all know, what's good for the Party is good for Texas! I mean, for America!
