A Derbyshire paedophile was last Friday jailed for raping the two-year-old daughter of a woman he met online, the Derby Evening Telegraph reports.

Simon Webb, 22, of South Normanton, began a physical relationship with the girl's mother following an internet encounter in November last year. In March, he raped the child.

Webb also "carried out a series of sexual attacks" between 6-7 April on a 13-year-old girl he'd also met in cyberspace. He appeared in Nottingham Crown Court on one count of sexual assault and six other sexual offences. He was given two life sentences and will serve at least 10 years before becoming eligible for parole. ®
