Comments on: Plaxo looks to social networking market

Plaxo... desperatly hanging on...

they've got a nice product for keeping contacts lists in sync, but there are other folks with a plug-in to do that on that market...

LinkedIn offers a simple, fuss-free service and doesn't keep spamming me to get me to spam my contacts (which I guess it what social networking is all about when the sites are trying to get some traction)

Some of their competitors like Adaptive Path do smart"live" analysis on your mail to assign relevance as well as connectedness.

Plaxo would actually have a huge value to me as a utility to manage and sync my address books across Outlook, Windows Live Messenger, FaceBook and LinkedIn.... we don't need another Social Network (especially one that's got to 3.0 without any real traction), but we do need someone to deliver some glue to *really* hold them together

Does anyone trust plaxo?

Dunno what others here think, but I'd trust plaxo about as far as I can throw them. Anyone who gives plaxo my e-mail address is asked to remove it from their online address book illico presto. I object to people giving my e-mail address to online outfits without my permission.
