Since the slug has such low power requirements, it can be expected to fulfill its role far longer than its technology life. It does not require active cooling. It can be configured for parasitic installations.

The Wireless slug can function as a wireless repeater for mesh applications. It should be obvious that widespread adoption of this functionality could unhinge in-place for-pay IP networks.

As a media server the slug is remarkable. As a backup server its utility is incredible. For offsite backups with sufficient bandwidth it can be configured with enough disk space to eliminate the need for 1000x more expensive equipment.
