The Swedish outfit copped to the data breach in its blog, which ironically was the site of the vulnerability. It said: They have got a copy of the user database. That is, your username and passwords. But, the passwords are stored encrypted, so it's not a big deal, but it's still very sad that it's out there. All emails are for instance encrypted as well, they will most likely not be able to decrypt them either (they are _very_ encrypted) Swedish newspapers fingered hacking collective Arga Unga Hackare as the perps, though both the group and Pirate Bay co-founder Peter Sunde have denied their involvement. Sunde said he knows whodunnit, and that the hole has been fixed. Pirate Bay has garnered attention in the last year after it was raided by Swedish authorities, tried to buy Sealand, and took money from a far-right benefactor. ® 2 comments posted — Comment period finished It is so a big deal...Posted: 13:42 14th May 2007 Big deal but ...Posted: 16:48 14th May 2007
