Collabnet has acquired VA Software's Sourceforge enterprise edition business.
As part of the deal, announced yesterday, VA Software has gained an equity ownership stake in Collabnet. VA is the firm behind the slashdot.org website, amongst others.
Both firms announced the deal yesterday and said they had also agreed to work together on a 30 month online advertising services drive.
"With our equity ownership in Collabnet we demonstrate our continued belief that demand for quality collaborative software development solutions continues to grow," Ali Jenab, CEO of VA Software said.
