Steve Lockie leaves C2000

Blimey....

Published Tuesday 28th November 2006 11:52 GMT

Steve Lockie, the long-time boss of Computer 2000, is leaving the distie in January.

Lockie, who's been at the firm for 10 years, will be replaced as UK managing director by Andy Gass - who's been at C2000 for 12 years on and off. The two will work together to ensure a smooth handover before Lockie's last day on 31 January.

Quoted in a press release, Lockie said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 years and want to extend my most sincere thanks to all the management and staff at Computer 2000 and Tech Data. I've been fortunate enough to work with some very talented and dedicated people during my time here and I have learned a great deal, especially over the past three years. I'm moving on with a mixture of sadness and excitement about the future."

Lockie will be taking on "a new opportunity" but it is unclear what that will be. Calls to his mobile this morning have not been answered. ®
