Palm Europe prices up Treo 680 smart phone

Taking pre-orders

Palm has begun taking orders from Europeans for its upcoming Treo 680 Palm OS-based smart phone. The updated stubless and RoHS-compliant version of the Treo 650 will retail for £329 inc VAT if you want one unallied to any specific mobile phone network.

Alas, while Palm launched the 680 in a variety of bright colours, the unlocked version appears to be only available in conservative grey. The handset sports the usual 320 x 320, 65,536-colour display, 312MHz PXA270 processor, 64MB of Flash memory, VGA camera, Bluetooth 1.2 and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE wireless link.

Less stubby: Palm's Treo 680

Palm's website didn't indicate when the 680 will ship. ®
