LG to ship 5Mp camera phone next month

Two flashes and autofocus...

LG's five megapixel camera-equipped phone, the KG920 will hit the UK's shores next month, retailer Carphone Warehouse has claimed, though it's keeping mum on how much the handset will cost.

The KG920 was announced in February this year. It's set to sport a 2in, 262,144-colour, 240 x 320 display. It's no lightweight, coming in at 138g and measuring 10.8 x 5 x 1.8cm. Carphone Warehouse notes the handset is equipped with Bluetooth. To that we'd add its tri-band GSM/GPRS connectivity.

As a phone, the KG920 offers little to text home about, but the 5Mp autofocus camera sounds impressive, as is the swivel-round mount the camera's attached to. The thing's even fitted with two flashes, one xenon, the other LED. Its digital zoom facility goes up to 4x. LG's apparently bundling a 256MB memory card to store your snaps on. ®
