Beware Cameroonians bearing puppies

Beginner's guide to SSL certificates

We've just received a frantic email from someone who rather inadvisedly, and inexplicably, decided to buy an English bulldog from that well-known centre of pedigree breeds: Cameroon.

Read on:

I was scamed by ROINA WOMBAD her e-mail address is sourthbuffet@earthlink.net she has an add posted on postaroo she says she has an english bull dog for sale she lives in Cameroon Africa attached is a picture of the english bulldog she also is selling a Yorkie I sent this woman money she was soposto sent out the puppy on a plain she took my money and keep the puppy. She will not return my e-mails So i had a friend e-mail her acting as if she was replying to the add this woman told her the same stuff she told me.Sent her the same picture she sent me. I have contacted the police all the news channels locally and internationaly and the internet crime complaint center(Ic3) and know i want to make sure she does NOT do this to any one else I have e-mailed all the news channels I could think of asking for help I recieved this e-mail from her this morning as you read it you will be able to tell why im worried that my person informatio may be publiced.

And here's why our correspondent is worried she may be exposed online - the aforementioned reply email from Ms Wombad:

Good morning,

I,m sorry to inform you that, i have also contacted the Police about the ilegal act you did. You are trying to import a puppy from cameroon with no licence and permit, also You are a cheat, a very greedy woman. How can you be buying a puppy which sells for $900 for only $215,, are you not ashame,, I sold Greed nothing else but greed. And you fall for it,, so Blame your self and stop sending emails to me, or else i,m going to Start publishing your name and address as well as a Fraudster.I will let poeple Know that you are a very Greedy woman, that you have no papers for any of your dogs and that you are not able to home all the dogs you have, GREEDY WOMAN

Blimey. The victim has been well and truly fleeced in this case and is unlikely ever to see her money again. We doubt, though, that Wombad will find the time to carry out her dire threat, what with all those puppies to look after and everything.

We gather other Posteroo users have also been burned, and doubtless some of you are wondering why on God's Green Earth anyone would be daft enough to try and buy a puppy from Cameroon. Simple: that classic combination of greed and stupidity. Caveat Emptor. ®
