AMD rolls out Socket S1 Semprons

AMD has unveiled a trio of Mobile Sempron processors designed to work with the chip maker's new, DDR 2 SDRAM-supporting Socket S1 interconnect. The chips, based on the 'Keene' core, and are believed to incorporate AMD's Digital Media XPress [1] technology.
The three new Mobile Semprons are the 3200+, 3400+, 3500+. AMD didn't make public the parts' specifications, but they're believed to contain a single, 64-bit enabled core with either 256KB or 512KB L2 cache, depending on the model number.
The processors are priced at $107, $134 and $142, respectively, when sold in batches of 1,000 CPUs.
AMD yesterday unveiled [2] its first dual-core mobile processors, the Turion 64 X2 range. The line-up also features Socket S1 and DDR 2 support. ®
