Wanadooproblems.co.uk to rebrand

Say hello to Orangeproblems.co.uk

Wanadoo Problems - the forum set up in desperation by a punter who was left without broadband for weeks on end after a bodged LLU upgrade - is to change its name.

Instead of wanadooproblems.co.uk, the site will change its name to orangeproblems.co.uk - an amazing coincidence because Wanadoo is to ditch its brand at the end of the month in favour of Orange.

Soon-to-be-extinct Wanadoo, and Orange, are owned by France Telecom.

The relaunch date - or 'O' day - is understood to be 1 June although bets are still being taken on the end of May.

Insiders have already told El Reg that Orange will unveil a "free" proposition similar to the one from The Carphone Warehouse that has caused such a stir in the industry.

But like Carphone's offer, Orange's deal is understood to have strings attached, caps, and lengthy contract lock-in. ®
