The Nursing Times is currently running an online poll to gauge public opinion on whether or not GPs should be allowed, in some cases, to trouser a whopping £250k. An anonymous sawbones writes:

hiya

i see the nurses hitting the headlines today with their big conference on in bournemouth

if you remember the recent government spin on how gp's earn 250k then this nursing survey [1] is very interesting

they haven't seemed to notice that you can vote repeatedly :) and myself and many of my GP colleagues seem to be doing just that!

"you can lead a nurse to water, but you can't make her think...."

Ahem. The results are, then, fairly predictable:

That rigged docs' salary poll in full [2]

Scandalous. We wouldn't object so much if GPs spent less time taking clinical heroin and fiddling about with their appointment software on their PCs while telling five-year-olds with saucepans on their heads to quit smoking and come back in a week if it hasn't cleared up. We have made our dossier available to the authorities. ®
