Capita this week bought .ict, a “captive” education IT dealership within Northamptonshire County Council (NCC). Terms were undisclosed.
.ict has operated as a standalone business with NCC since 2000. It “specialises in the provision of ICT services to support learning, and the management of learning, for young people”. The organisation will form the basis of a new regional ICT support centre for Capita’s education ICT business.
According to Ovum Holway, Capita is the UK’s second biggest supplier of schools IT, behind only RM. ®
