Epson unveils 'Windows Vista Capable' PC

Logo goes live

Internet Security Threat Report 2014

It's official - the blurry 'Windows Vista-capable' logo that appeared on the web last week is real, as Epson demonstrated today when it launched a desktop system for the Japanese market that conforms to the certification process centred on Microsoft's next generation of Windows.

The machine in question is the Endeavour Pro 3500, based on a 3GHz Pentium 4 630, Intel's 975X chipset and Nvidia's GeForce 6600 GT graphics chip. Epson's box has 512MB of DDR 2 SDRAM and an 80GB hard drive too, along with Gigabit Ethernet, six USB 2.0 ports, a pair of PCI Express x16 slots and two x1 connectors.

Epson said the 3500 contains sufficient horsepower to run Windows Vista Home Basic Edition, one of the many forms the new OS will adopt. ®
