The Register is looking for a hardware specialist to join the team on our personal technology channel. We need a PC expert who's up to speed on the latest CPUs, GPUs, DRAM, Flash and HDDs, but won't be put out if asked to play with PDAs, smart-phones, media centres and MP3 players, too.

The successful candidate will soon find themselves building contacts with hardware companies to seek out the best new products and bring them to a technology-savvy and gadget-hungry audience. The position will also involve preparing product-news stories and readying third-party content for publication.

If you're a technology news or reviews journalist, or a contributor to a specialist hardware website, and feel you were always destined to work on the UK's most popular technology website, we want to hear from you. We're not looking for extensive journalistic experience but we do expect you to demonstrate strong communications skills, a robust knowledge of the subject and lashings of enthusiasm.
