Softonic, the Spanish free software download site, has set-up an English-speaking version. This contains reviews, a useful comparison utility and paid-for software too.
Softonic inglés is the Barcelona-based firm's third site - it set up a German version last year. Its claim to be Europe's biggest download portal - and the world's fourth biggest - is based on Alexa rankings, which is hardly scientific.
But Softonic is undoubtedly a biggie, with 33,000 programs online, and 235,000 downloads a day. It claims more than 4.5m uniques and 60m page views a month.
