TomTom - the satellite navigation service - is offering its punters free traffic updates for a month afters its website went titsup last week. Services suffered after a server migration fell behind schedule leaving TomTom punters unable to access the site.
The company - which has offices in Amsterdam, London, Massachusetts and Taiwan - declined to say how many of its customers had been hit by the snag but admitted that the problem was "worldwide".
In an email to punters TomTom explained that it was "upgrading the computer system which provides our Traffic service" and that it suffered "unforeseen technical issues".
"To compensate you for this inconvenience, we will be giving all Traffic subscribers one month of free Traffic updates," the email added. ®
