In brief Police investigating email death threats against members of the Australian cricket squad arrested a 32 year-old from Stoke-on-Trent today. The man was reportedly arrested after being traced through his email address.

A police spokesman told the BBC the man was arrested on charges of making threats to kill and released on police bail until 27 October. Aussie fast Bowler Brett Lee told Australia's Nine Network that the threats made in the run-up to the final test at the Oval. "We were aware of some death threats. It is obviously now a matter for the police," he said. Lee added that security experts traveling with the team guarded their safety. ®
